Develop painting techniques to create watercolour images over three Saturdays
in our beautiful studio. Explore light, colour, form and depth from observation.
Suitable for those with some experience. Materials list provided. BYO lunch.

Watercolour paints in pans or tubes:
Winsor and Newton Artist Watercolours or other brand

The following basic colours are suggested:
Lemon Yellow
Cadmium Yellow Deep
Cadmium red
Permanent Alizarin Crimson
French Ultramarine Blue
Prussian blue

Yellow Ochre
Burnt Sienna
Burnt Umber
Sap green
Paynes Grey

White gouache

Brushes
2 round brushes, your choice of size (medium and fine point), eg. size 6 or 12, pure red sable
1 mop brush for washes eg. goat or squirrel 1 ½”

Watercolour Palette with wells

Watercolour paper or pad
2 loose sheets of watercolour paper, eg: Arches or Saunders 300gsm, medium (cold pressed)
Or a pad of watercolour paper, any size and surface, 300gsm.

Accessories
HB pencil
soft eraser
2 water jars with lids
handtowel
small drawing board
bulldog clips
masking tape

Bring any materials, ideas or images for inspiration that you may already have, or come along with the basics and we will explore watercolour together from there.
